David Cook announced his brother, Adam Cook, died of cancer on Saturday May 2. Adam Cook had been fighting cancer for more than 10 years. David Cook shared his tragic news on Sunday morning, May 3. Cook spoke about his brother before he started running his race in “Race for Hope” in Washington, DC.

David Cook said his brother died of a brain tumor. Cook said the race was important to him. His team raised $97,000 for brain cancer research. Adam Cook, 36, was undergoing chemotherapy while attending brother David Cook’s performance in American Idol.

David Cook said that he did not have the habit of running but was grateful for his fans’ support. Cook promised to be present every year for the cancer research benefit.
