Updated July 2 2009 – The David Carradine autopsy results are in. Carradine died of asphyxiation. The pathologist said the manner in which Carradine’s hands were tied suggested he could not have bound himself. The forensic expert thought Carradine’s death was suspicious.

Updated – David Carradine’s family announced that the independent forensic expert concluded his preliminary investigations. David Carradine did not commit suicide. Dr Michael Baden of New York examined Carradine’s body and said he did not kill himself.

However, before anyone rushes into any conclusions, they have stressed that more information is required.

Updated June 7 2009 – Thailand’s online newspaper Thai Rath has published some photos of David Carradine after his death. The man in the picture did not look like Carradine. The body faced the wall and the camera did not capture the face.

The head had a short mop of black hair. Maybe Carradine wore a black hair wig? Maybe the body was not Carradine’s. Some readers have commented that the scene was probably staged by the Thai Rath to replicate the actual one. The model’s legs were slightly bent at his knees. He looked like he was flexing his knees a bit. Where is the rigor mortis that sets in after death? A dead body would look stiff and maybe not flexed?

Would a man wear a dark wig if he was trying to pleasure himself alone by hanging?

There was a piece of red colored corset or lingerie on the bed. Did a woman leave it there? She might be an accessory to murder. Wouldn’t she have removed it to save her own skin?

All US publications are banned from publishing the David Carradine Thai Rath death photo.

David Carradine autoerotic asphyxiation rumors:

David Carradine, 72, was found dead Thur, June 4. Carradine was found hanged in a closet in his hotel room in Bangkok, Thailand. There are rumors Carradine died accidentally when he performed some procedure on himself. BBC said Carradine had a rope around his neck and other parts of his body. The description sounded like unconfirmed self-stimulating autoerotic asphyxiation. The rumor said Carradine may have died accidentally when something went wrong.

David Carradine’s death was compared to the death of Michael Hutchence on Nov 22 1997.

Michael Hutchence, whose full name was Michael Kelland John Hutchence, also died under similar circumstances. Hutchence, the lead singer of INXS, was discovered dead in his hotel room in Sydney. Hutchence’s body was nude and he had a belt near him. Hutchence did not leave behind any suicide notes. From the circumstantial evidence, it was suspected Michael Hutchence may have died accidentally by autoerotic asphyxiation.

Some reports said David Carradine was naked when he was found. Other reports said Carradine was half naked when he was discovered dead in his closet.

David Carradine was supposed to join the rest of the crew for a meal on Wednesday, June 3, but he failed to show up. The hotel’s maid found Carradine dead on Thursday, June 4.

David Carradine’s rep said the actor’s death was accidental. Carradine had not been suicidal. Carradine’s body did not bear any signs of assault. This ruled out theories of foul play by another party.

David Carradine was in Bangkok to film his latest movie, “Stretch”. MK2, a French company, is the producer of the movie “Stretch”. MK2 said Carradine was found dead in his hotel room in the Nai Lert Park hotel. It was three days before the end of filming for Stretch when the death was discovered.

David Carradine’s father was John Carradine. The other Carradine brothers were Keith Carradine and Robert Carradine. Keith and Robert are both actors too.

David Carradine, born in 1936, became an international star when he acted as Shaolin priest Kwai Chang Caine.

Carradine was married five times. Anne Bierman was his fifth wife. Carradine and Bierman married on Dec 26 2005

David Carradine is survived by son Tom Carradine (from Barbara Hershey), and daughters Calista Carradine and Kansas Carradine from previous marriages.

Martha Plimpton, an actress, is Keith Carradine’s daughter. Martha’s mother is Shelley Plimpton. Ms Plimpton and Keith Carrdaine had Martha as the fruit of their relationship when they were together. Martha Plimpton described her uncle David as a talented, intelligent and generous man.

David Carradine, RIP.

There are more reports saying that Carradine had a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals.

Marina Anderson, one of Carradine’s former wives, said he was depressed but she believed he was not suicidal. Anderson’s divorce papers in 2003 accused Carradine of “deviant sexual behavior which was potentially deadly.” It was not stated what the sexual behavior was all about.

Dan Adams, who had directed David Carradine in “The Golden Boys” (2008), said he spoke with Carradine one and a half weeks ago. Adams said he believed Carradine was upbeat and was not suicidal.

David Carradine’s manager, Chuck Binder, said he suspected foul play. Carradine could have been murdered as he was found with his hands bound behind his back. Carradine may have been engaged in a sexual play with the rope around his neck and genitals but his bound hands behind his back tell a different story.

A source said a yellow rope was around Carradine’s neck and a black rope was tied around his genitals.

Police in Thailand are trying to avoid negative publicity. They are of the opinion that David Carradine died alone. Carradine’s body has been shipped back to US Friday evening, June 5.

Carradine’s family has asked the FBI to investigate his death.

The colors of the ropes probably bear some significance in local Thai customs. Thailand is a country with local customs and traditions. The native Thais may be able to read the significance of the colors of the ropes used to bind Carradine. The Buddhists in Thailand use threads of different colors to tie around their wrists as good luck charms. If the locals know the significance of the colors of the ropes used by Carradine, they are not forthcoming in sharing their knowledge.

Gail Jensen, one of Carradine’s former wives, said the actor liked sexual bondage.  Ms Jensen was married to david carradine for 10 years before they divorced.
