Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were married by Mayor Gavin Newsom on June 16 2008. Del Martin cut their wedding cake.

Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were the first to marry in California when California was formally allowed to perform the same sex marriages of Gays, Lesbians, and Transgenders.

Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were the first to be married in 2004, during the ‘Winter of Love’ when about 4,000 same-sex couples exchanged vows. That marriage was later declared invalid by the Law. Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon were founders of The Daughters Of Bilitis. It was a lesbian organization. Del Martin and Phyllis Lyon have been a couple for over 50 years.

George Takei and Brad Altman are getting married on Sep. 14 2008.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are getting married. Queen Latifah and Jeannette Jenkins are getting married soon. Jodie Foster and Cynthia Mort are still new into their relationship.  Less was heard from Cynthia Nixon & Christine Marinoni.
