Darryl Hannah, a actress, and James Hansen, a NASA scientist, were arrested. Hannah and Hansen were protestors in SW Virginia. Hannah and Hansen were protesting against mountaintop mining.

Hannah and the other protestors blocked State Route 3 near Massey Energy subsidiary’s coal processing plant, in Boone County, west Virginia. The protesters came up against the coal miners. The opponents of mountain top coal mining sat on the road and they were arrested for obstructing and impeding traffic.
