Darren Lynch & Leah Reynolds implicated in murders of Jairo Santos and Joseph Odierno
By Clarencia Cynrae on August 2nd, 2008Jairo Santos, 22, and Joseph Odierno, 35, were killed. Darren Lynch, 28, admitted shooting Jairo Santos and Joseph Odierno in their heads. Jairo Santos and Joseph Odierno were supposedly killed on July 16.

Darren Lynch dismembered the corpses and brought them to his parents’ house to dispose of the dead in the surrounding areas.
Darren Lynch was jailed without bail on Friday, August 1 2008. Darren Lynch’s home in Middle Village, Queens, had a stockpile of drugs and weapons.
Jairo Santos, 22, and Joseph Odierno, 35, were suspected to have been involved in a drug deal that had gone wrong.
Darren Lynch’s live-in girlfriend, Leah Reynolds, 22, was arrested and charged with hindering the prosecution.
Joseph Odierno’s wife, Jessica Odierno, insisted that her husband was a good man. Jessica Odierno had no idea how he got involved with Jairo Santos and Darren Lynch. Jessica Odierno said she did not know who the men were.

i am a close friend of the odierno family. joseph was a loving husband and a devoted father. his entire family and all of his friends are devastated over this tragic loss…and the inhumanity of it all…words escape me. please pray for joey’s soul.

I am a friend of the Santos family, and it is imperative that Jairo’s name be cleared. He was a straight A student, and fully enrolled at CW Post. He was a leader in his community, and on the eboard of several campus organizations as well as local organizations. He was a charismatic, good man from an amazing family, and was NOT involved with a drug deal. He is a victim here.

I live in Middle Village and I would like to say nice and being a father does not rule out dirty.Darren was a drug dealer Mr santos and mr Odierno did not meet Darren by mistake they were involved in this and that should be known.Was it right to kill them….no…but when U live by the sword You sometimes have to pay the price as these men did.Don’t be in denial, this did not happen by mistake and should be an example to young kids that want to get involved in the drug game to stay far away and go to school and see that dealing with drugs lead only to jail or death.

It’s real upseting to see how people could give their ignorant opions without even knowing what really went down…But you know what I just really hope that never happens to a family member of yours. My name is Diane. Leah Reynolds was my best friend. I am shocked and horrified. I can not justify his or her actions. But I do want to attempt to clear her name. Leah is a great girl, she has never been in trouble before. She is very sweet loyal and loving. I have known her for a very long time, and she is one of the best people I’ve ever known. I guess drugs can turn the best of people sour.

Jairo Santos was the most amazinq quy you would ever meet. He wasn’t a druq dealer he was an amazinq student who helped a lot of people in school. He didn’t deserve to die this way and so younq. Darren Lynch will pay for he has done. And so will his qirlfriend. If Leah Reynolds was such a qreat qurl she would’ve called the cops immediately when she saw her boyfriend killed Jairo and Odierno. I was Jairos friend since elementary through high school and after.. he lived in the same neighborhood 4 blocks away.. we would chill on the the regular.. he was and will always be one of my boys… he was no criminal.. he was at the wrong place, with the wrong people, at the wrong time… the way he left us is just unforgivable… I pray for his family and other friends… Jairo, you’re in a better place my dude… all of us here will always remember you for your funny, comical, and show-offy character… RIP my friend.

Yes we know that it had somethinq to do with druqs it’s just that some people make it seem like Jairo Santos was a horrible man callinq him scum and shit and it wasn’t like that. Everyone loved Jairo. He was amazinq. His personality was amazinq. He was incredible. Respectful. Not like many of the quys out there. He was doinq what he needed to do in school and helpinq his friends out whenever they needed help. So please if you do not know what the situation is and don’t know the people personally then just shush. i am a good friend of Jairo and ive known him all my life. those of us that knew jairo know that he was a very good person. if we’re shocked about this news then its for a reason. i would have never imagined that jairo wouldve gotten mixed up in a situation like this. some of you are saying jairo had to pay for his mistake, well so does darren lynch. he took lives that he had no reason to take and i hope justice gets served and he gets whats coming to him. Jairo Santos was a great friend of mine. He never bothered no one. We hung out at our old high school. He was a great person and he made me and everybody laugh when we were not in a good mood. It is incredible how cold hearted and insensitive people can be, Both Jairo Santos and Joseph Odierno were two human beings(not animals!!!!!) that didn’t deverve to die especially in such horrific way. Let’s have some degree of respect if not for them at least for their grieving families.Instead of judging them or spreading rumors, We should unite and pray for their souls and for their families who are in huge pain.

I went to school with Leah and I am disgusted to hear what the papers had to say about what she was involved in. A lot of times newsday especially exaggerates the truth about an event that happened but there is no exaggeration in what the papers reported. It is pretty much cut and dry information. I knew her all throughout highschool and we were good friends not best friends but good friends on and off. It is weird to look back and remember the times I hung out with her and even went to her house. She seemed like she came from such a loving home. Her family was so nice and Leah portrayed herself to be such a good person but I am not surprised she got into a mess like this. I think she craved attention from others especially because all she did was go on and on about her problems and say how her mother beat her all the time(which after meeting her family I think she was just messed up in the head) Even throughout highschool she had a drug problem. She presented herself like such a slut throughout school and she was always getting into relationships with crazy drug addict guys in our school. I am so happy that I lost touch with her after highschool because she is a nutcase. She always had a problem with depression and she would cut herself and use so many drugs. I know all of that for a fact. It really sickens me to know she was involved in this crime. Also, to her best friend who is saying that she probably just went along because she was scared of him, get off it. If you are her best friend then you know the real Leah so cut the bullshit. Leah was known to put herself in crazy messed up relationships because she was an attention whore. Not once did I ever meet a boyfriend of hers that wasnt a mental case. Your friend Leah was too messed up with drugs as usual to put her life on track. If she was so scared of him she should have went to the police a long time ago and left him. She lived with him with all those weapons and drugs because she is as crazy as he was. I thought she would have changed. How sad and pathetic. She should have gotten convicted of something more than what she was charged with. I don’t understand that except maybe she gave the police more information after they were caught so she got off easier. I hope she gets jail time because maybe it will open her eyes. I met darren at a bar in queens for the first time. We recognized each other from walking our dogs in the same neighborhood and had a few mutual intrests. With this we hung out a few times and would chill either at his crib or mine.I remember when his dog died how he was upset or when he got his new dog Rampage(blue nosed pit). I am positive that with all the crazy shit this guy had around him in that house from the various guns to the juice,coke,dope,K,Vicodin,Ecastasy, and the room with the industrial press the newspapers in every right can make this guy out to be a monster. Well I never saw it. Not once. I mean he was all juiced up and jacked but he went to the gym and really kept tot himself. Yes he was a drugdealer.So are half the motherfuckes in every highschool in the real world. The only difference was this guy was on a whole nother level. Yeah he was a little overboard with the ak47 and all those guns but this was his occupation weither right or wrong and he was bout his business.I know for a fact he was not a monster Ive personally seen him show compassion in certin decisions while i was present and always has he shown me respect as I have to him. When I lived in Lefrak City I remember this one dude killed another guy right on a basketball court for 500 bucks. This is 20000 dollars. Even if these two guys were the middle men and were not aware of the quality of the work or that the dudes were scheming there is no way for darren to get the money back but he can hold on to these 2 guys. I just don’t understand why he went the route he did after this point. If he kills these guys he doesn’t get his money back but if he lets them slide then he gets herbed and royally for 20 g’s. Darren should have put a flag up knowing that in this drought 20 g’s was too good a price anyway. I wish I knew the whole story not just what the papers say but Im sure that will come out. Jessica – You have a lot of nerve saying those horrible things about Leah. You don’t know anything about her so keep your mouth shut. What are you jealous because she was better looking than you, had a better body and got all the attention that you craved in high school? I will start of by thanking everyone for there support and love during this time of need. Those who new Jairo know that all this is not true and know the true story. I am his siSter and I will tell you who he was to me he was my best friend, my mentor, my heart my walking angel and my brother. Let me then tell you that the reason the rumors are not true is because I raised j and I do not raise fuck ups. My family and I supported j and made sure that until his last breath j was not a statistic, but some one who made a difference in the world. I won’t sit here and open a window for anyone to visit the life of Jairo because I do not think you are worth it. Trust me, Lucky are those who have met him. His actions spoke in such volumes that I know at night no matter who you are, what race you are, you are thinking of him. He was a movement within himself, and still countinues to be. He was a gift given to us by God numerous times called a walking angel on earth. As for the partys involved I pray for them everyday. The truth is I feel sorry for them. I hold no hate because then they won. I make no space for them in my heart that would take away from my brothers memory. I feel pity for those who came across these people. As an educated latina, a sister, a daughter, and a friend, I pride myself in saying that I was blessed for 22 yrs with a brother and now I am blessed with an Angel. Believe me when I tell you had ANY OF THOSE PEOPLE KNOWN MY BROTHER HE WOULD BE ALIVE.I SAY AGAIN I DONT FUCK UP EVER and I raised him, so guess what he was not a fuck up. I’ve waited a while to post because I was hoping the families have had the time they need to deal with thier loss. Obviously they will never get over it but hearing some truth will hopefully hurt a lot less. Neither Jairo nor Joseph deserved to die for thier actions but neither of them was an innocent party. First of all, I know everyone wants to say Jairo was not into drugs but he was. The police arrested him in January of 2008 for Marijuana. That is a fact and you can look it up if you want. That does not necesarrily make him a drug dealer but those of you who really knew him are lieing to themselves. Joseph had an extensive police record dating back many years but most of that was for possesion and not sales. Again, that does not make him a drug dealer but it is fairly safe to say that both of them were “Involved” in drugs in one way or another. Jairo and Joseph did know each other and the police have made that very clear. One of them knew the sellers and one of them knew Lynch. Either way, none of this makes them bad people or says that they deserved to die. All it says it that both victims used poor judgement in dealing with a Psychopath. Now, on the the point of my post. The following statements are FACTS about Darren Lynch
1) He is in no way receiving ANY special treatment in Jail. No special meals or best jobs.
2) The CO’s are not his friends.
3) He might be putting up a good front for his buddy over the phone but I can assure you he cries himself to sleep every night.
4) He never apologized or asked anyone for forgiveness
5) He never said Jairo Santos had nothing to with it. He has plead not-guily to the charges so saying that would be admitting to killing an innocent party.
6) His attorney is not the best in the business. He might have had a better shot with a PD.
7) There is NO CHANCE of him getting off. Period, He will be in prison for the rest of his life. Guaranteed.
8. The DA will not offer ANY plea deal. There is no need too. They have all of the evidence they need and his signed confession is rock solid.
9) His two accomplices will probably get lesser sentances but they will both see prison time.
Lastly
10) Based on some of the comments I have seen here and heard elsewhere, Darren will probably get his once he get’s to a bigger facility.

lets be realistic, Jairo (which I know) is a very nice young man.. I am a very close friend of his girlfriend whom comes from a good family. I truly don;t think that he had the need to go that extreme and cheat someone(steal money)….he had morals and a good family. I guess he hung around the wrong people. Sometimes when we are yooung we tend to make mistakes that we cant fix.
Only they know the real story but as the college camara shows, where was everyone when Jairo was being kidnapped from college? what is the real story behind this? It’s been months but up to this day my friend can’t recuperate from the schock…. no one deserves to die the way he did.. it has been a strong impact, not expected… I think that if he would’ve died of natural causes it would have been alot easier…
As far as Lynch, he made a mistake and will live for the rest of his life in hell, time will tell and their won’t be one day which he would not be hunted with all the bad memories.

Trial is over. Lynch guilty on 1st degree & 2nd degree murder. And 1st degree and 2ns degree kidnapping. Is going to get life in jail without the possibility of parole.
Wall got 2nd degree murder and 1st and 2nd degree kidnapping. Will get 25 to life. Could be paroled in20 years with good behavior unless the go stiffer.

Great news. Leah Reynolds plead guilty over the summer and is awaiting sentancing. She probably won’t get more then 7 years. Wall will get out some day but not for at least 20 years. Lynch is going to be in prison for the rest of his life. If NY had the death penalty, he would be getting it but I think life in prison without parole is a much better punishment. SO much for him having the illest lawyer.
