Darren Lynch, James Wall, Leah Reynolds charged for deaths of Jairo Santos & Joseph Odierno
By Clarencia Cynrae on August 16th, 2008Darren Lynch, 28, and Leah Reynolds, 22, of Middle Village, and James Wall, 28, of Wedgewood Drive in Coram were charged in connection with the deaths of Joseph Odierno, 35, of Miller Place, and Jairo Santos, 22, of Washington Heights. On Tuesday, August 12, the grand jury charges were unsealed.
Darren Lynch and James Wall had previously pled not guilty to two counts each of second-degree murder. Lynch and Wall were held in remand without bail conditions.
Leah Reynolds was accused of being aware of the murders and hiding the murder weapon. Reynolds was charged with hindering prosecution. Reynolds was held because she did not post bail of $500,000.
James Wall was Darren Lynch’s friend and was present at the time of the kidnapping of Joseph Odierno and Jairo Santos. Police did not elaborate on Wall’s role. Police said that Lynch kidnapped and killed Joseph Odierno and Jairo Santos after they sold him $20,000 of fake cocaine.
Lynch, Wall and Reynolds returned to Suffolk County Jail after the hearing on Tuesday, August 12, 2008. All three will attend court again on September 8 for pre-trial hearings.
