Daphne Maxwell Reid is best known for her role as Aunt Viv in “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air”. Reid took over Aunt Viv’s role from Janet Hubert, when Hubert was dismissed.

Reid graduated with a degree in design and architecture but her modeling work eventually carved out a career for her. Reid worked fro Eileen Ford modeling agency. Reid was the first black woman to be featured on Glamour magazine’s cover. Reid is married to Tim Reid, an actor. Reid now operates New Millennium Studios in Petersburg, Virginia.
