Danny Philbin, Regis Philbin’s son, attempted suicide. Perez Hilton reported that Danny Philbin took an overdose of pills. Danny Philbin had recentlt broken up with his wife, Judy Philbin.

Judy Philbin spoke out in December 2008. Judy made a public appeal to her father-in-law, Regis Philbin, for some money. The younger Philbins were struggling to survive.

Judy Philbin claimed her husband encouraged her to seek sexual gratification from another man, since he (Danny) was wheel chair bound. Judy Philbin claimed when she finally had an affair and told Danny, he became very angry. Danny Philbin threw her out of their matrimonial home. Danny got a restraining order against Judy, claiming she had threatened him. Danny even claimed Judy tried to blackmail his father.

After Danny Philbin’s suicide attempt, his friend discovered it and rushed him to a crisis center. Philbin was later transferred to a psychiatric ward at Loma Linda University Behavioral Medicine Center.
