Daniel Villa, aka Danny Villa, resigned as head football coach and athletic director at Walpole High School. Villa resigned this week. Walpole police charged Villa with 3 counts of child rape. Daniel Danny Villa has not been arrested yet.

Danny Villa, 44, is accused of child rape of a child over 14 years old. Villa faces 3 counts of enticing a minor. Police had a warrant of arrest for Villa on Fri., Dec. 26. School Superintendent Lincoln Lynch had a complaint against Villa on Mon., Dec. 22. Lynch reported it to police. By Fri., police had their warrant. Villa may have known he was going in. On Tue. morning, Villa was on paid administration leave. By late Tue., Villa had tendered his resignation. Villa said he had family concerns.

Villa, a former NFL lineman, played for the New England Patriots, from 1987 – 1991. Villa was named Coach Of The Year by Patriots All Access television program on Channel 5.
