Cynthia Sommer was charged and convicted of poisoning her husband, Sgt. Todd Sommer,with arsenic. The prosecution argued that Cynthia Sommer’s motive was to collect of her husband’s insurance policy of $250,000.

Cynthia spent 876 days in jail before Todd Sommer’s old tissue samples were tested again for toxicity. Todd Sommer was declared clean of arsenic and the first test results were likely from contaminated samples.
