Cynthia Sommer files lawsuit after Todd Sommer death

Cynthia Sommer became a widow when her husband, Todd Sommer, a Marine, died. Sommer’s nightmare started. Sommer was accused of poisoning her husband to death. Sommer was accused of having the motive to collect insurance on Todd’s military death benefits.

Sommer was detained in jail for 2 years. After her first trial, Sommer was convicted.

One year later, Sommer was given a new trial. New tests were ordered and no arsenic poison in Todd Sommer’s tissue. Cynthia Sommer was cleared of the murder charge.

Sommer has filed a $20 million lawsuit against the government, San Diego County medical examiner’s office and the San Diego DA’s office and a few more bodies.

Cynthia Sommer files lawsuit for wrongful imprisonment. Cynthia Sommer filed the lawsuit to make her point that she didn’t wish for wrongful charges to be filed on anyone.

    I just watched this on “Snapped.” I hope she gets every dime she sues for in the lawsuit. The prosecutor that continued to go after her under those circumstances needs to sit in jail the same amount of days that Cindy Sommer did.
