Cynthia Loo and Thomas Rubinson are competing for the Los Angeles Judicial Office No. 82. Cynthia Loo is a juvenile court referee, a low level judicial officer, whose duties are low level and not comparable to that of a judge. Thomas Rubinson is the Deputy District Attorney. Cynthia Loo and Thomas Rubinson are vying for an open judicial seat.

Cynthia Loo stated in “slate mailers,” print ads, on her website and other “Voter Guide” websites, as well as in her Candidate Statement in the official Sample Ballot, that she is a “judge.” Thomas Rubinson claimed that Cynthia Loo has lied and misrepresented herself.
