Crystal Renn: Crystal Renn plus sized model (photo)
By Clarencia Cynrae on September 27th, 2009Crystal Renn, 23, is now a famous plus sized model. Renn said she became a plus sized model, instead of a size zero model, when she almost died from starvation.
Renn recounted how she was talent spotted at the tender and impressionable age of 13. Renn was asked to lose weight. Renn did as she was asked and lost five stones! Renn told how she lived on lettuce leaves, det Coke and chewing gum to lose weight.
Why did Crystal Renn try so hard to become a size zero model? Renn was motherless, after her biological mother abandoned her when she was an infant. When Renn was offered a chance to carve out a decent living for herself and be respected as a model, she jumped at the chance.
Renn said she almost stopped eating, took diuretics and exercised vigorously every day. Renn’s weight plummeted to 95 pounds. Renn measured only 33 inches at the hips.
Renn said she lasted for three years on the zero size scale before she got sick of the regime. Renn gained weight and got reprimanded. Renn decided to take things into her own hands by joining Ford modeling agency. Ford supports plus sized models.
Renn proved that she could be successful being a plus sized model. In fact, Renn became more successful than ever. Renn became one of the world’s highest paid plus sized models. Renn has modeled for American Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and Evans clothing.
Renn now stands 5 feet 9 inches and wears a UK size 14. Renn said she isn’t really plus sized. She said her size doesn’t really count. Renn wants women to think that they could look beautiful at whatever size they are at.
Lizzie Miller is another plus sized model who gained national and international fame when Glamour featured her in their magazine this year. Lizzie Miller sparked a huge wave of interest in plus sized models and she will be featured again in the November 2009 issue of Glamour.
