Crystal Lee Sutton died on Friday, Sep 11. Crystal Lee Sutton was an activist who fought to unionize textile plants in the Southern States. Sutton died at the age of 68. Sutton’s cause of death was brain cancer.

Sutton suffered under low pay and appalling conditions before she decided enough was enough. Sutton’s story was made into a movie called “Norma Rae”. Sally Field played Sutton in the film. Field won the Best Actress Academy Award for her role in “Norma Rae”.
