Craig Ewert: Ewert “Right To Die – The Suicide Tourist” photos

Craig Ewert, 59, a patient with motor neuron disease, wanted to die. Ewert killed himself with some assistance at Swiss Dignitas, a suicide clinic, in Switzerland. Ewert’s suicide was filmed for a documentary named “Right To Die – The Suicide Tourist”. This will be aired on Sky Real Lives channel, on British TV, Wednesday night, Dec. 10. (UK Time Zone).

Craig Ewert was a retired professor, whose motor neuron disease crippled him. Ewert needed a ventilator to breathe. Ewert could not eat and was fed through a tube. Ewert said that if he became completely paralyzed and could not talk, he would not be able to communicate he was suffering. Ewert hinted he chose to end his life before he became incapacitated.

Craig Ewert used to live in the US. When Ewert retired, he and his wife, Mary Ewert, moved to the UK. After Craig Ewert’s death, Mary Ewert re-located back to the US.

This is the first time British TV airs an assisted suicide on its TV. Some people have predicted a wave of backlash over “euthanasia”.
