Covenant School vs Dallas Academy 100 – 0: 100 – 0 basketball game
By Clarencia Cynrae on January 23rd, 2009The Covenant School in Dallas beat their opponent, The Dallas Academy, in a basket ball game. The game score was 100 – 0. The Dallas Academy is a school for students with learning disabilities. The Dallas Academy has withdrawn itself from another game on Jan. 30. Some people have protested that it was not in good grace to beat a basketball team at 100 – 0, especially one that had players with special needs.
Covenant girls’ basketball coach, Micah Grimes, issued a weak apology.
Many people would say that the match should not have been arranged in the first place.

If Christ had the opportunity to save 100 souls should he only save 59 so that the devil won’t feel bad?

You fire a coach for winning? Did they cheat or just play fair and square and win? If the team wasn’t a match, who’s fault is that? The Covenant School letter doesn’t sound very Christian like to me and I wouldn’t want my child to attend a school who teaches this way. They should re-hire the coach and tell the team they’re sorry for your disgraceful attitude. I’m sorry but I disagree with their perception of what Chris’s attitude would be, I don’t hear Chris apologize for winning. What are they trying to teach? Sorry we’re winners? What’s this world coming to? When we stop our children from good wholesome competition, we’re teaching them how to be losers. Perhaps the next time, the school should set a run-rule, like the games over once they reach a certain number of points above the competition.
