By Clarencia Cynrae on August 20th, 2008Jessica Gonzalez was only 13 when she shot and killed an ex roommate because ehse claimed that the girl tried to steal her boyfriend. At 15, Jessica Gonzalez was the youngest to be charged and convicted of murder in Rhode Island, New York. After serving 10 years of jail, Jessica Gonzalez is being paroled and is free. Gonzalez’ sentence was originally 45 – 60 years.
Jessica Gonzalez will not be punished for another offence she committed while in prison. Gonzalez allegedly had sex with a supervisor for her work release program. Gonzalez went to work at the East Providence elderly care center. The Parole Board knew about Gonzalez’ sexual relations with her work supervisor but they decided to ignore this. Jessica Gonzalez received her parole. However, the center, East Providence care facility, and the prison’s Corrections Center ended their work arrangement program for inmates.
Jessica Gonzalez was deemed as a child at the time of her cinviction so the Parole Board thought it wa stime ofr her to be released. Jessica Gonzalez was unpunished for her realtionship with her supervisor because only supervisors were held accountable for their behaviors and not workers.
