Condoleezza Rice, US Secretary of State, has gone to Libya to meet Col. Moammar Gadhafi. The last visit by a US Secretary of State to Libya was in 1953 and done by John Foster Dulles.

Washington and Libya have been on diplomatic relations for the past 5 years. Condoleezza Rice was praised by Col. Moammar Gadhafi but it is difficult to predict his actions.
