Colby Buzzell blog, CBFTW milblog, is now My War

By Clarencia Cynrae on November 13th, 2008

Colby Buzzell was a soldier serving in Iraq when he started blogging his raw experiences fighting on the frontline in 2004. Buzzell blogged under the pseudonym CBFTW (Colby Buzzell F— The War). When his blog became viral, the military monitored his posts. One day, when Colby wrote an essay that hinged on anti-war sentiments, he was censored and told to stop blogging. Today, the military encourages soldiers to blog in milblogs. Milblogs educate the families and public about the war.

After Buuzzell went home to the US, his collection of blog posts were compiled into a book named, “My War,” and it was published in 2005. The Colby Buzzell blog, CBFTW milblog, is now available as “My War.” Excerpts from his book were made for a documentary named “Operation Homecoming: Writing the Wartime Experience.” Colby Buzzell now says he hopes the conflict in Iraq will end or the new President Obama would bring all our troops home. Colby said that in his opinion, The US had no business in Iraq and should not have engaged in the Iraq war.
