Claire Marshall, 35, was hacked to death with a meat cleaver. Marshall’s mother, Marjorie was killed in a similar manner 14 years ago. Claire Marshall left behind 3 children. Her father, James Marshall, has to care for his grandchildren now.

Claire’s mother, was killed by John Marshall. Both John Marshall and Claire Marshall were adopted children of Mr and Mrs Marshall.

Benjamin Cooper, 43, of Wellington Street, Millom, was charged for murdering Claire Marshall. Cooper was accused of attempting to kill Jess Fern, 64, living in the same village.
