Christopher Janney, 16, of South Fayette, was arrested and charged with attempted murders. Christopher Janney placed “chlorine compression bombs” near his sleeping family members. Police reported that the bottles with white powder smelled of chlorine. Christopher Janney’s moter, Bonnie Janney, told the press her son had some mental problems. Bonnie said she believed he would not hurt her or the rest of the family.

Christopher Janney’s motive was unknown. Christopher Janney is a high school junior and a member of the soccer team. Linda Hippert, the superintendent of South Fayette School District, said Christopher Janney was a regular student. Christopher Janney asked someone how to mix the chemicals. Janney had planned to leave town by bus after he committed his crimes.
