Christina Ballard and Cornelius Voss filed a lawsuit against their local police in Illinois. Ballard and Voss claimed that while they were driving home on election night, white police officers drove along side their car. Some children cheered for Obama through the open car windows. The lawsuit claimed that the police officers sprayed pepper spray and shouted “white power” and a racial slur. Monique Bond, the Illinois police spokeswoman, gave a statement to say there would be an investigation.
