Christian Tarantino was alleged to be involved with the murders of a guard of an armored car and two potential informants who could turn against him. Christian Tarantino is known as the owner of many fitness centers (Synergy Fitness Clubs) in New York City and Long Island. Christian Tarantino was accused of leading a double life. Police suspected Tarantino was involved in burglaries, car thefts, and armed robberies.
Law enforcement claimed Tarantino and his accomplices robbed an armored car in 1994 and escaped with $100,000. The guard, Julius Baumgardt, 47, was fatally shot. Louis Dorval, 30, supposedly fired the bullet that killed Julius Baumgardt. Vincent Gargiulo, 34, was murdered in 2003 after he got into bad terms with his business partner, Tarantino. They argued about the gyms in their partnership. Vincent Gargiulo had a tape recording of Tarantino talking about the deaths of Julius Baumgardt and Louis Dorval.

Christian Tarantino, 39, pleaded not guilty to the charges of three murders. Tarantino’s next court appointment following this plea was on Nov 21 2008.
Tarantino was accused of killing one man and later two men to cover up the murder of the first man. Tarantino was accused of participating in the robbery of an armored van in Muttontown in June 1994. The robbers took about $100,000 cash. Louis Dorval, one of the robbers and alleged accomplice of Tarantino, fatally shot the van’s guard, Julius Baumgardt.
Louis Dorval was arrested around August 1994 for racketeering and burglary. Tarantino was allegedly involved in this burglary. Tarantino was allegedly worried that Dorval would talk to the authorities about the armored van heist so Dorval was killed. Dorval was an associate of the Lucchese crime family.
Dorval was murdered on Aug 12, 1994. Dorval’s body was placed in a plastic box and dumped at sea. The Coast Guard found the floating box 30 miles away from Fire Island.
Vincent Gargiulo, Tarntino’s alleged criminal business associate, recorded a conversation between himself and Tarantino. In this chat, Tarantino allegedly admitted his role in the deaths of Julius Baumgardt and Louis Dorval. The alleged conversation was secretly recorded in Sep 2000.
Around 2003, Gargiulo tried to extort money and blackmail Tarantino. Gargiulo threatened to surrender the tape to the authorities. On Aug 18, 2003, Gargiulo was fatally shot in Manhattan. Tarantino was allegedly involved in Gargiulo’s death as he was accused of hiring an assassin to kill Gargiulo. The secret recording was given to NYC police. Most probably, Gargiulo had given a copy of it to someone prior to his death with the instructions to turn it over if something happened to him.
Gargiulo is the brother-in-law of Snider, the rock star. His sister, Suzette Gargiulo, is married to Snider. Suzette is a costume designer.
Gargiulo was a federal informant. Tarantino might be sentenced with the death penalty for killing an informant.

According to the indictment, Dorval was in a car when Pistone shot him in the head. Misserio and an unidentified third person also allegedly were in the car.
No motive was given.
According to the indictment, Dorval’s body was stuffed in a plastic toolbox and dumped in the ocean.

The brother-in-law of TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider was shot in the nose and killed in a mystery attack Monday (August 18) while walking to work in Midtown New York City, according to the New York Post.
Vincent Gargiulo, 34, whose sister is married to Snider, was found in a pool of blood just before 7 a.m. at 30th Street and Broadway.
He was gunned down one block from a Con Edison substation building site at Fifth Avenue, where he worked in construction, cops said.
Cops say they still don’t know what prompted the bizarre close-range attack on Gargiulo, and last night questioned one of his co-workers.
The co-worker was taken in after a police dog, which had been brought to the murder site, picked up a scent.
Cops later released the co-worker and said he was not a suspect.
Snider went to the Midtown South Precinct station house with Gargiulo’s distraught sister to give information to cops about Gargiulo’s life.
Police said they questioned the duo and asked them to help come up with possible reasons for the sudden brutal attack.
“It’s been a bad day for me today,” said Dee, who managed a wan smile when leaving the station house on West 35th Street.
The 48-year-old rocker was accompanied by his wife, Suzette — the victim’s sister — and another man.
Ed Kayatt, whose son used to live with Gargiulo, called the victim “a real sweet boy” who had had some business failures in the past but finally appeared to be getting his life back on track when he was killed.
“I was shocked to hear about this. I saw him three weeks ago, and he was very happy because he found a good-paying job,” said Kayatt, owner of the Nueva Habana Café.
“He was a likeable person, very personable, always pleasant,” said Kayatt, who had hired Gargiulo for awhile as a waiter. “He was always there to help us when he could.”
Co-workers said Gargiulo was married.
Cops said the dead man was related to the family that founded Gargiulo’s, a famous Coney Island Italian eatery.

I cant believe what I am reading. Tough guys from South Merrick and South Bellmore…..thats a Joke. I have spent time in Bed St, The Bronx, and upper NYC and trust me there are no tough real tough guys to have come from M & B. Nice to see that everyone is still exactly where we left them…
Its 1+ year later, and no conviction. The people have to prove their burden beyond a reasoble doubt, and the fact that Chris’ hair is in a van and whole lot of hearsay is floating about, this may be done.
Chris T. was always nice to me… Since I was 9 years old, at Lakeside. Every time I saw him, in my 20’s and 30’s he always came up to me… and he always had better manners then I did.. I don’t judge people by who they were when they were kids… So lets keep an open mind.
No matter what, Chris T is one of us, and there before the grace of god go I. If Mr. T is not getting the proper defense, then perhaps, it he may need some help. I am a Civil guy, and I prefer to fight in COurt over money, but being that their are enouph JFK grads that are NY Bar members and admitted in EDNY, I think we should be able to organize effective defense teams for one of our own…
BTW– It is kind of interesting that someone on hear is counting the amount of times that someone else on here is taking bar exams… It is an accomplishment in and of itself to be Certified to sit for such an exam…Please advise how many States have certified you to take such an exam, when you count off the amount of times another has sat for same. Stop judgingg one another, and start helping one another…
Can someone please tell me what happened to Mr. T? If he needs help, or if he has ample defense?
