Christa Pike is on death row for killing Colleen Slemmer. Slemmer, 19, of Orange Park, was killed in 1995 in Tennessee. Slemmer’s mother, May Martinez, is interested to track on people who post material on Christa Pike and her daughter, Colleen Slemmer.
Christa Gail Pike was 18 when she allegedly killed someone. Pike was convicted when she was 20 years old. In 1995, Pike became the youngest woman to be sentenced to death in the US.
Pike had a troubled beginning. She dropped out of high school and joined a program to learn career skills. Pike became involved in a romantic relationship with Tadaryl Shipp, who was 3 years younger than herself, at 15. Pike and Shipp were interested in devil worship and the occult.
When Shipp befriended Colleen Slemmer, 19, Pike became jealous. Pike felt threatened by Slemmer and was afraid of losing Shipp. Pike recruited Shadolla Peterson, 18, to help her wreck vengeance upon Slemmer.
Pike, Shipp and Peterson lured Slemmer away from their dormitory. The three tortured Slemmer for about one hour before Pike smashed her skull. Pike kept a piece of Slemmer’s skull.
Pike showed off this piece of skull in school and that was her undoing. Pike, Shipp and Peterson were arrested and tried for murder and conspiracy to commit murder. They were found guilty after the trial.
On March 30, 1996, Pike was sentenced to death. Shipp was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole. Peterson got off with probation as she pleaded guilty to being an accessory to murder.
While in prison serving her sentence and awaiting the death penalty, Pike attempted to strangle an inmate. For this, Pike was tried and on August 12, 2004, Pike was convicted of the crime of attempted first degree murder.
May Martinez said she found a website that posted a crime scene picture of Colleen with her throat cut. Martinez has expressed her wish to have the photo removed. Ms Martinez is anguished to be reminded of Colleen’s death. Can you help her?
While in prison, Pike allegedly tried to kill her fellow inmate, Patricia Jones. On Aug 24, 2001, Pike allegedly used a show string to choke Jones. Another inmate, Natasha Cornett, was accused of assisting Pike but there was insufficient evidence to blame Cornett. Pike was tried and convicted for attempted first degree murder, nearly one year later, on Aug 12 2004.

I learned about the case on Investigation Discovery and in my opinion Christa should be put to death since she is guilty, has no remorse and the cruelty of her crime. Our justice systems seems to protect the criminal more than the victim.
This killer’s date with the executioner is long overdue. What in the Hell is wrong with the state of Tennessee? We’re going on 16 years now on death row!! There is no justice for the victim and the victim’s family (who in essence are victims themselves), until lethal drugs are coursing through this killer’s veins. I don’t think the state has a right to execute anyone. Clearly Christa is a danger to society and therefore I agree that she should be incarcerated for life in order to protect society.
Christa Pike is evil and should remain in jail for her natural life. I do not believe in the death penalty, it is not 100% accurate when putting people to death, there have been many cases over the years where people have not only been wrongly convicted but wrongly executed, which makes the whole system unsafe. Yes Christa Pike is probably guilty, but think of the ones on death row who are not! Life in prison without parol is not an easy option for murderers, but for a safe system the only option!
I was housed as an inmate at TN> PRISONfor Women while being there i met christa pike while doing several segregation days. while i always thought badly of christa as i got to know her i realized one thing— christa is NOT the monster people have painted her to be. I am very much a christain and I will say Christa showed me a love and kindness rarely found in prison. People make mistakes- sometimes horrible ones like Christa did but who am I to pass judgement? I have nothing but a heart full of sympathy for Ms. Martinez. The idea of losing my own children in any situation is one I dont like to think of, nor like to think of them in the hands of a sociopathic murderer. I am sure Ms. Martinez did all she could to be a great parent. It is so sad, those of us who do give a loving home, well grounded roots of family and morals, are the ones who lose a child to the children whose lives had little or no parent caring, to selfish to care beyond half feeding, clothing, doing what the state requires as a “fit” parent. The majority of killers sadly, never had a chance in life. Is it an excuse to murder? If “Deadly Women” was right, Christa at age 18 was lured with the offer to go get high, is this what you would want for your child to face if they like so many other teens, who will say yes, a rite of passage..why do good parents have to worry at an age of 18 when we need to learn to let our child go to become a young adult. As parents, who do provide wonderful homes, don’t let your guard down for any age. Learn about the friends, asks about their home lives. Life is precious. I rather be the nutty mother who is a bit over bearing and fight each day to make sure my children are around the safest crowd of friends. Don’t get me wrong either. If you dont, start researching murders of the youngest ever convicted in every State, look at the death row inmates in all the prisons, start reading books that follow this horrendous crime, and like me, you will get sick to keep reading, hearing, “Their homelife was one of abuse…” You will get my message then, if I am not clear enough now.

i was at the prison with christa for almost 3 years. she is an evil person who has no remorse or sympathy for what she did. actually, she laughs about it. i think she should have been fried long, long ago. she has it made there, she is treated like a little princess that does no wrong. the officers bring-sneak her in whatever she wants. she doesn’t do without anything in there. inmates worship her like she is a god. it sickened me. she was in the max unit while i was there thank GOD. but i did get in trouble once and have to go in the same pod with her. just to hear her talk to other people about it disgusted me. you can hear evil in the girls voice. there is no doubt in my mind that she would kill again if she was given the chance. so to all of you people that feel sorry for her and say poor christa, dont worry the prison makes sure she has anything she wants. thats how our justice system works. it sickens me almost as much as she does. i think they should put her and natasha cornett to death but of course tasha didnt get death she got the life of luxury at tn prison for women. the prison staff itself seems to worship the murders and child molesters. i just dont get it. if anyone else gets it shed some light my way. na dont do that because if you agree with any of it you are a sick individual too!!

I too have seen this story on ID. I looked up her story and unfortunately there were crime scene photos. This poor girl colleen was savagely beaten and cut. Almost to the point of unrecognition. I do not have any sympathy for Christa, and I think she deserves far worst than she will get. However, I do feel sympathy for her mother and the rest of her family. I have an 11 year old daughter, and I could not imagine being in either one of these parents situation. (colleen’s or Christa’s) Christa does not deserve life- she willingly and knowingly took a life, now it’s time to face the consequences. My prayers go out to all the families this has affected.
Who cares about her age. She is right where she belongs and they do need to kill her already instead of dragging it out and costing the taxpayers.
I saw a show about her called “Deadly Women” on investigation discovery, channel 192 on dish. I couldn’t belive what she did. She even stopped by the crime scene the next morning with her friends while the police were there to see if they had any suspects. The police asked what her name was and she told them it was “none of their business.” She was a horrible person and deserved what she got. She also had a personality disorder that made everything that happened to her seem like the end of the world. So there is some, if not a one percent bit of sympathy for her, but like I said, not much. I am so sorry for Colleen’s family, and wish them the best. I haven’t mentioned this for a reason, but I am Christa’s sister. No one know’s because our mom gave me up when my sister was 8. I won’t say my name though, for reasons of my own. Please do not blame me for my sister’s mistakes.
I knew all the parties involved I was at Job Corps during the same time as they were. I knew Colleen best because she dated one of my friends. She was very nice. Christa and Tadaryl were hard to read I can tell you I didn’t trust them. There are some who play off one another and they did. I say Christa needs to pay for her crime and get off the tax payers dime. All my heart felt prayers to Colleen’s family and friends and also to Christa’s family and friends.

I am a licensed clinical psychiatrist, and I deal with deviants and fiends on a daily basis, for the state of CT at Connecticut State Hospital. In my, thorough doctoral opinion about this situation, after alot of thought, and much research on this girl, is this…it could be worse. she couldve eaten her. If you look at the crime scene photos, my expert and scholarly opinion is that it wouldve been worse if she had eaten her body. So I do not understand what the big deal is. She didnt eat her. And she didnt draw a ‘pentagram’ into the alleged victim’s chest. It was clearly a cock-eyed star. She couldnt see in the dark and was trying to be creative. So, all of this amounts to a poor girl receiving a sentence for being creative, and not eating her. Do you yell at your children for being creative?

I’ve met Christa. My psych class visited the prison. She seems ok. She talked to us and answered our questions. But really its just a farse. She was on her medication. Her eyes are black as coals. She straight up told us that she didn’t feel remorse for what she did. She said “if I liked the girl, i wouldn’t have killed her.” She did tell us that she felt bad that she deprived the family of a daughter and a sister. This does not lessen my view of her, but it does show that she has a millifraction of some heart in her. She didn’t mention the other girl she nearly killed, but the guard we were with did. She didn’t like the inmate. What happened was one inmate went crazy and started a fire in her cell. They had to evacuated. Normally, the maximum security prisoners are kept seperate, but because of the fire, they had to put more than one woman in the rec pens. Christa got put with the girl she did not like and another girl. She strangled the girl with a shoestring, and succeeded in choking her to death, but paramedics were there because of the fire, and were able to bring the inmate back.
In my opinion, she deserves what she’s getting. Leviticus says that those who murder should be murdered themselves. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
Generally, I think if you’re mentally aware of what you are doing is wrong and intentially intend to cause a person harm, you should be given the exact same treatment you had given your victim. This sounds brutal, but murder crime rates would decrease if they knew that if they killed a person, they would suffer the exact same treatment in the long run. People would understand that its not worth it to kill a person. Christa, and all murders, ruin there lives when they committ murder. My question is, Why would you even want to physically harm another human being for your own gain.
