Updated August 15 2009 – The security guard at the cemetery where Choi Jin-sil’s ashes were interred reported a break-in. Choi Jin-sil’s tomb was searched and her urn containing her ashes was missing. Choi Jin-sil’s remains were buried in her tomb in the cemetery in Yangpyeong, south of Seoul. On Saturday, the guard on duty reported that Choi Jin-sil’s tomb was broken into and the urn containing her ashes could not be found.

Choi Jin-sil, a popular South Korean actress, may have committed suicide in her shower at home on Thursday morning, October 2. Choi Jin-sil’s picture is here. Her mother found her in the bathroom with an elastic band around her neck and attached to the shower.

Choi Jin-sil’s death is rumored to be related to Ahn Jae-hwan’s death in early September. It was rumored Choi Jin-sil had loan a huge sum of money to Ahn Jae-hwan but the actress denied that. Choi Jin-sil’s death looked like suicide but the police might investigate to confirm.

The police chief investigator Yang Jae-ho said that a doctor’s examination and testimony from Choi Jin-sil’s relatives and friends suggested it was a suicide.

Choi Jin-sil did not leave behind any suicide notes but her makeup assistant said she received two phone text messages asking her to care for her kids. Choi Jin-sil also apologized. Choi’s mother told that on Wednesday night, she last saw Jin-sil coming home late and drunk. Jin-sil cried and went ton the bathroom.

Choi Jin-sil was depressed over several matters. Choi told a friend she was worried about raising her two children, her future in the acting industry. Choi confided in her friend that she was suicidal.
