Chihiro “Cherry” Enoki: TV editor Enoki died on Mt Shasta

Chihiro “Cherry” Enoki, a TV editor, died when she fell from Mount Shasta (Mt Shasta) in norther Calif. Enoki was 33 when hse died on Fri., Nov. 28. Enoki’s death fall was at 11,300 feet. Enoki fell 600 – 1500 feet on the icy Avalanche Gulch. Enoki hit rocks on her way down. Chihiro Enoki was with 2 male friends on their climb and they carried crampons and ice axes. No one wore helmets.

Enoki’s climbing companions, Christopher James Kraul, 30, and Gordon Clark, 28 reached her after the 8:30 a.m. fall. Kraul and Clark said Enoki was not breathing by then. Kraul & Clark tried to revive Enoki with CPR. They flagged 2 other climbers, one of whom activated a personal locator beacon. A helicopter arrived to pick up Enoki’s body.

Chihiro “Cherry” Enoki was from Brooklyn. Enoki was from Tufts University. Enoki’s work was once nominated for an Emmy Award.
