There is speculation that India Finance Minister P Chidambaram and India External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee are the top contenders for the post of Home Minister. Shivraj Patil, the former Home Minister, resigned on Sun., Nov. 30. Shivraj Patil’s resignation has been accepted by India’s PM, Manmohan Singh.

Congress Working Committee (CWC) expressed grievances on the Mumbai terror attacks and Shivraj Patil offered his resignation.
