Chi Cheng, 38, the bassist in Deftones, is in a coma after a car accident in Santa Clara, Ca. Chi Cheng, is in a serious state after his car accident on Monday, November 3. Deftones’ frontman, Chino Moreno, told the Sacramento Bee newspaper that Chi Cheng was in a critical condition. Chino Moreno has requested for prayers for the recovery of Chi Cheng.

Chi Cheng has been working on Deftones upcoming studio album, called “Eros.” Deftones planned to release Eros in Spring 2009. The Deftones’ llast public appearance was in September, when they performed in Peoria, Arizona.
