Charlie Manuel: Charlie Manuel’s mother dies

Charlie Manuel, the manager of Phillies, is grieving after the death of his mother. Charlie Manuel will continue to be present in the Philadelphia Phillies’ dugout on Friday afternoon, Oct 10. Manuel will be at the Game 2 of the NLCS. The Phillies released a statement to announce that Manuel’s mother, June Manuel, passed away on Friday morning. June Manuel was 87. June Manuel died at the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

After Charlie Manuel had the news, he was still present at the game against Los Angeles Dodgers. Manuel omitted talking to the reporters and his usual pregame press conference was canceled. Manny Ramirez, who is now in the opposing team of the Dodgers, used to be managed by Charlie Manuel. Ramirez stopped by to offer condolences. L.A. Dodgers Manager, Joe Torre, also chatted with Manuel. The Phillies won the game against the Dodgers 3-2, in Game 1, on Thursday night. June Manuel is survived by 10 children.
