Charles Thomas McClendon, 29, a school teacher from Stone Mountain Middle School, was arrested for child molestation. McClendon was arrested just before he engaged in sex with the girl, 15, a minor and student at his school.

McClendon has been charged with child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

On Thursday, July 16, a police officer, Sgt Eric Bradshaw, from Jonesboro on patrol saw McClendon and a girl inside a pickup truck, which was parked behind the El Tarasco restaurant. It was Thursday, 2:30 am. The cop pulled up near the truck and McClendon threw out a condom, exited the truck and pulled up his pants. The girl hurriedly got dressed.

The girl initially lied about her age but later admitted some facts.

Stone Mountain Middle School belongs to the DeKalb County Schools district.
