Charles Rogers, a former football player, was sentenced to jail Tuesday, March 24. Rogers failed his mandatory substance abuse (alcohol) test and refused to honor the sobriety court.

Rogers told his judge he wanted to get out of sobriety court that laid the 18 month rules and regulations on him until June 2009.

Rogers attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in December 2008. In early March, Rogers was caught falsifying records to state he had attended AA meetings.

The judge sentenced Rogers to 30 days jail and deducted 15 days for time served.

Charles Rogers (photo at link) was a former Detroit Lion footballer and former Michigan State wide receiver.
