Charles Dean Hood needs postponement in execution
By Clarencia Cynrae on September 4th, 2008Twenty two judges appealed to Texas Governor Rick Perry to delay the execution of Charles Dean Hood, 30. The judges wrote a collective letter to Rick Perry to ask him to postpone Charles Dean Hood’s execution by 30 days.
Charles Dean Hood has a hearing that was scheduled two days after his appointed date of execution. This hearing will examine defense arguments that Charles Dean Hood did not get a fair trial. One prosecution lawyer was alleged to be in a romantic relationship with the judge at the trial. The judges wrote to say that they believed this relationship between the lawyer and judge influenced Charles Dean Hood’s chances of a fair and impartial trial.
