Twenty two judges appealed to Texas Governor Rick Perry to delay the execution of Charles Dean Hood, 30. The judges wrote a collective letter to Rick Perry to ask him to postpone Charles Dean Hood’s execution by 30 days.

Charles Dean Hood has a hearing that was scheduled two days after his appointed date of execution. This hearing will examine defense arguments that Charles Dean Hood did not get a fair trial. One prosecution lawyer was alleged to be in a romantic relationship with the judge at the trial. The judges wrote to say that they believed this relationship between the lawyer and judge influenced Charles Dean Hood’s chances of a fair and impartial trial.
