On Wednesday, November 11, Charla Nash appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show. Nash talked about that fateful day that changed her life forever.
Travis the Chimp tore away Nash’s lips, eyelids, nose and hands during an unprovoked attack in February 2009. When police arrive at Sandra Herold’s home, they were forced to fatally shoot Travis.
After a long stay in hospital, Nash was discharged and still receives treatment from the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio.
Nash is blind now. Nash explained she consumed food through a straw and could not breathe through a nose. Nash’s injuries have stopped to give her physical pain. Nash has conquered her mental anguish and exercises by going for walks.
Charla Nash has filed a lawsuit to sue Sandra Herold, the owner of Travis. Herold was Nash’s ex boss, which was why Nash went to help her when she called about asking for aid to lure Travis back into his cage. Herold previously said Nash would be entitled to a workman’s compensation claim.

Monkeys are monkeys. Even human beings, when triggered, can get out of control. I admire Charla Nash for her strength & courage to show herself out on national T.V. just to warn the people and tell her story. I’m hoping that she will be able to receive continuous love, support & concern for a long, long time.
