Chaka Khan went to court to get temporary custody of her son’s daughter, because he and his wife failed to care for the 10 year old child. Chaka Khan and her sister, Tammy McCrary, claimed the minor’s parents were drug addicts who neglected her welfare. The judge granted Chaka Khan and Tammy McCrary temporary custody of the girl. The court will meet again in October 2011, to make the custody permanent.
