Heat Wave is a book by Richard Castle. The title of the book refers to a heat wave that gripped the city, the heat that is inside the characters’ attraction for each other, and the character’s surname. Castle’s protagonist is NYPD homicide detective, Nikki Heat.

Jean Adamson, 81, the UK writer for Topsy and Tim, was mugged. Adamson, the author of the popular children’s series of books, suffered a broken left arm after she was accosted by a robber who dragged her on the ground by holding onto her shopping bag.

Gertrude McCabe, 88, was brutally killed in San Jose. Her niece, Jane Alexander, 61 in 1983, decided to find her beloved aunt’s killer. Jane Alexander’s story has been made into a movie called “Citizen Jane”.

Dian Fossey (1932 – 1985) was an American zoologist who studied gorillas in Rwanda. Dian Fossey was murdered under controversial circumstances. Fossey is buried with the remains of her beloved gorillas in Rwanda

Mark McEwen: Mark McEwen book & lawsuit (photo)

Mark McEwen lost his medical negligence lawsuit against Dr Michael Bond and Baltimore Washington Medical Center. McEwen suffered a major stroke in an airplane and that ended his TV career with CBS. McEwen received a wrong diagnosis when he was admitted into the Baltimore hospital and examined by Dr Bond.
