Carlos Pardo, a NASCAR driver, was killed in the NASCAR Mexico race on Sunday, June 14. Carlos Pardo had a crash in the final laps. Pardo’s car was in the lead in his 97th lap when another car touched it from behind. Pardo’s vehicle slid and crashed into a wall at the entrance of the pit lane.

Pardo’s car was in a bad shape and so was the driver inside. Pardo was airlifted and sent to a hospital but he died form his injuries 45 minutes later.

The NASCAR race officials in Pueblo, Mexico City, later declared Carlos Pardo as the winner of the race.

Carlos Pardo had a long career in NASCAR. Pardo won the series championship in 2004. Pardo has raced in more than 74 races, winning 10 great career victories.
