Cameron Brown, 47, is in court to be tried on charges of killing his daughter, Lauren Sarene Key, 4 years old. The prosecutor accused Brown of killing Key by throwing her off Inspiration Point in Rancho Palos Verdes. Brown alleged was disinterested in Key and desired to get rid of her to avoid paying child support.

Brown allegedly threw Key off the cliff in Nov 2000. Brown’s defense lawyer claimed Key fell off the cliff herself. Brown has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.

Sarah Key-Marer is Lauren Sarene Key’s mother. Brown had disbelieved Marer and asked for a paternity test which showed he was the father.

This is Cameron Brown’s second trial. The first trial was dead locked when the jury disagreed on the severity of the charges to be declared on Brown.
