By Clarencia Cynrae on May 30th, 2009Updated June 2 2009 – Calvin Adams and Jeffrey Grinder were captured when their getaway car crashed. Their car was speeding and attracted the attention of a New York State Trooper. Adams and Grinder tried to flee their wrecked car near Buffalo, NY, on foot but were apprehended.
Deana Davison and Ryan McKinney, both of Little Rock, and Michael Stephenson of Jacksonville, were charged with furnishing an implement for escape. Davison, McKinney and Stephenson were charged with leaving a car for the convicts to escape in. Davison, McKinney and Stephenson were charged on Saturday, May 30.

Calvin Adams, 39, of Greene County and Jeffrey Grinder, 32, of Washington County escaped from the Cummins Unit, Arkansas, Friday evening, May 29. Adams and Grinder escaped after the early evening head count. By the time Adams and Grinder’s escapes were discovered, it was after 10 pm, when the next count was taken.
Adams and Grinder changed into correctional officer uniforms in the prison library. Grinder and Adams managed to walk out of the prison during the shift change when the guards were rotated. Grinder and Adams went to the car park where an accomplice had left a burgundy colored sedan there for them.
Both Adams and Grinder were convicts serving life sentences for capital murder.
