Buck Burnette, the backup center for the University of Texas football, has been kicked off the football team. Buck Burnette has been fired from UT football team because he posted a racist Obama joke and possible death threat on Facebook. Burnette supposedly wrote a comment after Tuesday’s Presidential election results became known.

People who read Burnette claimed he wrote – “all the hunters gather up, we have a #$%&er in the whitehouse”

Readers of Buck Burnette’s Facebook page started a hate campaign against him. They hated the racist Obama jokes. The University of Texas coach, Mack Brown, learned of the fruckus on Wednesday, November 5. Mack Brown the released Buck Burnette for violating the rules. Burnette’s Wimberly’s Weldon Nelms was Buck Burnette’s former coach and he stood up for Burnette. Weldon Nelms said he knew Burnette and believed he was not prejudiced, a bigot or a racist. America’s First Amendment allowed Buck Burnette to express his opinion but on a public forum like Facebook, the results were disastrous.

Buck Burnette has apologized. Burnette said he received the text as a message and he posted it on his Facebook. You can read Burnette’s apology at the link.

Buck Burnette is the second casualty of Facebook this week. The first was Caitlin Davis.
