Bucharest World’s Longest Sausage Wors: Longest Sausage (photos)
By Therese Lisieux on December 27th, 2008Bucharest made the World’s Longest Sausage on Sat., Dec. 27. The sausage was 392 m (1286 foot) and weighed 150 kg (330 pounds). This sausage, or wors in their local language, took 2 weeks to prepare. Twenty people worked on making the world’s longest sausage.
Bucharest made this sausage about 200 m longer than the previous world record held by Poland. An official from the Guinness Book of World Records was on hand to check and record this feat. Bucharest’s world’s longest sausage was later grilled and served to the local residents.

On Sun., Dec.28, Bucharest, the capital of Romania, claimed the title of the world’s biggest ever Christmas give-away. People numbering 3,939 dressed as Santa Claus gave away presents to children on the streets of Bucharest. Bucharest is in anther time zone so this event may have taken place at the time of posting in EST.
On Sun., Bucharest will try to make another entry into the Guinness Book Of World Records by baking the world’s heaviest cake.
