Brian Nichols: Brian Nichols trial guilty verdict

Brian Nichols has another trial to determine if he should get the death penalty for his crimes. On Friday, November 7, the jury gave their verdict after 2 days of deliberations.
Brian Nichols was quiet as his charges were read. Nichols, 36, had 54 charges and he was found guilty of all of them. Brian Nichols was guilty of murder, kidnap, robbery and escape in March 2005, that happened at Fulton County Courthouse. On Monday, November 10, Brian Nichols will be brought to court again for the death penalty hearing.
Brian Nichols confessed to killing a judge, court reporter, deputy and law enforcement agent were killed in the shootings. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Rowland Barnes, court reporter Julie Ann Brandau and Fulton County sheriff’s Sgt. Hoyt Teasley were killed. David Wilhelm, a federal customs agent, was killed in his home in Atlanta.
Brian Nichols went into an apartment and took hostage Ashley Smith. Ashley Smith said she gave Nichols drugs to calm him and read him some text from books. Ashley Smith persuaded Brian Nichols to surrender peacefully. Smith has married and her new name is Ashley Smith Robinson.
Brian Nichols said he is not guilty because of some mental illness but the jury has rejected his claim.
