Brian Guest: Shark attack victim Brian Guest (photos/video)

By Clarencia Cynrae on December 28th, 2008

Brian Guest, 51, a bank officer, is missing. Guest is feared to be a victim of a shark attack. Guest was snorkeling for crabs with his son, Daniel Guest, 24, when he disappeared. Brian Guest was in the sea off Western Australia, at Port Kennedy, 20 miles south of Perth, the capital of Australia.

Witnesses on the beach said they saw shark fins in the sea. Luke Tubbs, a local resident, said a man told him he saw a splash, a shark with a body in its mouth and then it disappeared.

Daniel Guest told how he saw the water turn red with blood. Guest was about 20 feet away from his father but he did not see his dad being attacked. Guest realized his father could have been in trouble so he swam back to the beach to get help. The search operation has been on-going since Brian Guest went missing.

Brian Guest had accepted the risks of diving. Guest told his family that if he were to die in the mouth of a shark, so be it. Guest said the shark should not be hunted down.
