Brenda Paz, 16, was an informant on Mara Salvatrucha, aka MS-13. The MS-13 was a street gang. Mara Salvatrucha supposedly engaged in drug trafficking, robberies and assassinations. Brenda Paz was killed 1 year after she became an informant.

Brenda Paz became an informant in 2002 because she feared being charged for a murder she witnessed. Paz wanted to turn over a new leaf. Paz was found out and murdered. Paz was stabbed, and her throat was slit. Paz was 4 months pregnant. Paz was spied on by the MS-13. Paz was exposed as a snitch and killed. The details of the story are here.
