Brandon Backe, the Astros pitcher, was arrested. Brandon Backe (photo here) was arrested along with 9 others in a fight with police. Backe was at a wedding party reception in a bar in Galveston. The bar was inside a hotel.

Brandon Backe, 30, ignored police instructions to leave the fight alone. Backe resisted police arrest. Astros spokesman, Jimmy Stanton, said the club could not comment on this case while it is still active. Brandon Backe was charged with misdemeanors on interfering with police and resisting arrest. He was relased after posting a $1500 bond. The bride’s father, brother and a FEMA coordinator were arrested at Galveston.
