Doug Pitt is the younger brother of Brad Pitt. Doug Pitt said Brad’s nomination for the Oscar Award for Best Actor for his role in “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” was like a pat on the back. Brad’s partner, Angelina Jolie, has a nomination for her role in “The Changeling”. Doug Pitt was happy to see they received the praise they deserved.

Doug Pitt had a “Care To Learn” project to help the poor children who could not afford food, clothing and basic needs. Doug Pitt had a videoed interview in which he talked about Service World, which has its office in Springfield.

Doug Pitt said when he approached his brother Brad Pitt, Brad donated $50,000. As word slowly spread, other donors contributed equal amounts to match Brad Pitt’s first donation. “Care To Learn” quickly amassed $200,000 within a short time of being set up.

Doug Pitt said that when a kid’s need was made known, his organization would get to work and gather help to address the need. Doug Pitt quoted the example to tell about the response time, which was 20 minutes. Pitt said he would like to do better than that in time.
