The Black Eyed Peas are being sued for plagiarism again, but this time, the plaintiffs are different people. Ebony Latrice Batts (Phoenix Phenom) and Manfred Mohr have sued the Black Eyed Peas as a group and also filed lawsuits against each of them individually.

Batts/ Phenom and Mohr claimed their song “Boom Dynamite” was plagiarized by the Peas’ song called “Boom Boom Pow”. Mohr and Phenom are suing for disgorgement of profits, punitive damages and unspecified damages.

Will.I.Am previously settled with Adam Freeland, for alleged plagiarizing of his song, “Mancry”. Will.I.Am had attended a performance where Adam Freeland played Mancry and he was inspired to create “Party All The Time”. The Pea said it was a misunderstanding since the legal formalities were not done before the song was released. Usually, when sampling is done, permission had to be sought and the original artist would be credited.
