Blair Kiel, a former QB for Notre Dame, was arrested. Blair Kiel was arrested on suspicion of having committed domestic battery. Kiel had an eventful Saturday night, Sep 5, as police arrested him.

Kiel faced additional charges of public intoxication, and resisting law enforcement. The incident happened outside a restroom at Victory Field. Kiel was waiting outside the restroom for his girlfriend, Christy Rundel.

Rundle was inside the restroom and behaving in an upset manner. Rundle explained that she was upset because Kiel allegedly grabbed her and had abused her earlier.

Rundle came out and Kiel behaved in a belligerent manner. Observers said he smelled of alcohol and his eyes were bloodshot. Kiel was escorted by a security officer and asked to leave Victory Field stadium. Kiel returned back inside the stadium and he was shouting at Rundle. The security told Kiel to leave and tried to escort him out but Kiel resisted. Kiel assaulted the officer and resisted security’s attempt to arrest him.

Kiel was arrested and detained. Later, Kiel obtained his release after paying a bond.

Kiel played QB for Notre Dame from 1980 to 1983. Kiel later played for other teams before retiring in 1993.
