Bill Melendez, Peanuts animator, died

Bill Melendez, the only animator permitted by Charles M. Schulz to work with the Peanuts cartoon characters, died on Tuesday, Sept. 2.

Bill Melendez died at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. Melendez passed away at the age of 91. Melendez was a great animator who earned eight Emmy Awards, 17 Emmy nominations, One Oscar nomination and two Peabody Awards. Bill Melendez devoted more than 70 years in the entertainment industry.
