The Big Valley Jamboree, near Edmonton, central Alberta, in Canada, had an accident. High winds caused the open air stage to collapse. A member of Billy Currington’s band was injured. One person was killed and fifteen people were injured.

Kevin Costner, the actor and singer, was scheduled to perform after the Bill Currington band. Costner and his manager Nick Meinama were caught under the stage when it collapsed. Costner and Meinama were unhurt and managed to get out. Costner’s band, Modern West, had their road manager and guitar player injured. They received treatment at the hospital and were later discharged.
