Ibnlive said that the Patiala House Court in New Delhi might sentence Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav on Friday, May 30, 2008.

Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav were convicted for murdering the son of an IAS officer, Nitish Katara in 2002. Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav were cousins.

Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav allegedly kidnapped Katara from a wedding party, hammered him with a hammer and then burnt him alive.The motive for the crime was that Vikas Yadav did not like the relationship Nitish Katara shared with his sister, Bharti Yadav. It was alleged that Nitish wanted to marry Bharti Yadav.

Bharti Yadav has returned to India from London. Bharti Yadav defends Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav. She said she had no intentions of marrying Nitish Katara. Her brother and cousin had no motive to kill Nitish Katara.

The Statesman.net reported that the court imposed fines of Rs 1.6 lakh from each convict. Vikas Yadav and Vishal Yadav received life sentence imprisonment.
